Andy Weir (/wɪər/ ⓘ; born June 16, 1972[1]) is an American novelist.[3] His 2011 novel The Martian was adapted into the 2015 film of the same name. He received the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer in 2016.[4] His 2021 novel Project Hail Mary was a finalist for the 2022 Hugo Award for Best Novel,[5] and was adapted into the 2026 film of the same name.
