Kamleshwar Prasad Saxena (6 January 1932 – 27 January 2007), widely known mononymously as Kamleshwar, was a legendary 20th-century Indian author, journalist, and screenwriter who wrote predominantly in Hindi. He was one of the pioneer figures of the Nayi Kahani (“New Story”) movement in the 1950s, which shifted Hindi literature away from pre-independence ideals toward contemporary social realism, urban alienation, and middle-class realities
