Omprakash Valmiki (1950–2013) was a monumental Indian poet, short-story writer, and pioneer of Dalit literature. Writing primarily in Hindi, his work gave a fierce, unflinching voice to the systemic oppression, discrimination, and daily humiliation faced by the Dalit community in India.
