Amritlal Nagar

Amritlal Nagar (17 August 1916 – 23 February 1990) was one of the most prominent and multi-faceted Hindi writers of the twentieth century. Often hailed as the true literary heir of Munshi Premchand, he left an indelible mark on Indian literature as a novelist, short-story writer, playwright, journalist, and screenwriter. Over his prolific career, he authored more than 14 novels and 13 short-story collections. He was deeply rooted in the ethos of the common people, earning him the reputation of a Janvadi (People’s Writer)
